About Airbag Solutions

Airbag Solutions™ was born of necessity. The year was 1990 and Douglas Gan was an independent auto damage appraiser. In the process of doing his job appraising damaged automobiles, Doug compiled manufacturer’s data and actual photographs of airbag jobs and airbag components so that when he subsequently encountered similar jobs, he could call on this information to make his job easier. In 1992 this information proved to be doubly important as Doug began servicing airbag jobs through his new company Stolen & Recovered™. By the late 90s, airbag complexity had grown and usage multiplied…and so did the frequency of airbag jobs. Since the emergence of passive restraint systems, seat belts, airbags and their related parts have been constantly modified, improved, updated and revised. With all these changes, accurate and current information was at a premium. Appraisers were constanly challenged to stay up to date on the newest airbag data…and supplemental claims were common when hidden damage was found. It was all too easy to overlook needed parts or order the wrong parts, delaying the on-time delivery of the repaired auto. It was clear that Doug’s compilation of valuable information needed a home where other appraisers could benefit from his data. In 2001 the Airbag Solutions™ database was published in CD form. At NACE in 2002 it was sold to Body Shops, insurance appraisers and training facilities helping them identify all of the required items as well as those items most often damaged or compromised as a result of an airbag deployment. Regional CD distribution was soon eclipsed by the world-wide web when Airbag Solutions™ became an on-line subscription database in 2004. The rest is history. Two complete redesigns and constant updates later, www.airbagsolutions.com has become the leading provider of airbag service information for nearly all makes and models of vehicles in North America including 2007 vehicles. The addition of dual-stage airbags, seat belt pretensioners, side air bags, rear airbags and head curtains & knee protection systems merely cemented Airbag Solutions’ value in the marketplace. It is this surge in demand for information that makes Airbag Solutions™ a must for appraisers, body shops and auto parts providers.

For the past 15 years Mr Gan has been overseeing Auto Information Services, Inc. (AISI), the parent company to Airbag Solutions™and Stolen & Recovered™. These specialty companies work with hundreds of shops, insurance companies and individuals in the automotive industry providing diagnostic and repair services, insurance investigations and technical information and assistance. Mr. Gan is a skilled businessman and technician with over 30 years of automotive service experience. He is ASE certified in 7 categories, trained by General Motors, and holds a degree in Mechanical Technology. He has owned and operated multiple successful auto repair and collision businesses (each employing over 20 people) and is uniquely positioned to develop creative solutions to auto industry challenges.

Roger Cole

Mr. Cole came to Auto Information Services, Inc (AISI) in 2003 filling a need for additional technical staff in the field. His responsibilities include direct customer care, technical diagnosis and hands-on installations. His specific expertise in domestic vehicles made him an excellent addition to the staff. Roger was trained at both Ford and Chrysler factory-training facilities before coming to AISI. He brings 21 years of automotive experience working in both private auto repair facilities as well as in dealerships. His expertise is in electrical systems, drivability, steering and trim work. Roger has been certified in EEC IV, OBD II, SRS and NVH for both Ford and Chrysler. Trained on DRB, Roger is competent in his diagnostic skills as well as programming. Roger is also ASE certified in automotive electrical systems.
